AIU Faculty Member Receives 36th Yamashita Taro Academic Research Encouragement Award – Dr. Yasuki Tachibana

Dr. Yasuki Tachibana, Assistant Professor in AIU’s Global Connectivity Program, has been awarded the 36th Yamashita Taro Academic Research Encouragement Award, becoming the first faculty member to receive the award while affiliated with Akita International University.

This award is presented to outstanding young researchers under the age of 40 who are either from Akita Prefecture or affiliated with a research institution in the prefecture. It covers all academic fields and recognizes individuals with exceptional and original achievements, based on their research publications, exhibition selections, and other accomplishments over the past five years.

Dr. Tachibana received the award for his theoretical research on quark-gluon plasma (QGP) using jets in high-energy nuclear collisions.

The award was featured in the Akita Sakigake Shimpō on May 29, 2025.
The award ceremony was held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Yamashita Memorial Hall in ?mori, Yokote City.
